Mitel Connect Client

I'll give a little background to my issue. We have users who have primary desks and sometimes have to cover at other user's desks. We have the Mitel client installed and do not want to move extensions for people who are covering others desks. With that being said, we have to help users log into the Mitel Connect Client when they sit at a different desk. Are there any registry or group policy entries/templates to populate the username, password, domain, and server spots in the login screen to automate this process?

we are on 14.2 19.50.1000.0

been having issues with the MWI light being on but there are no voicemails on the ext. i am thinking that someone has sent a broadcast voicemail to all the system extensions. weird thing is that its not on every phone just a few, i guess my question is are broadcast messages stored somewhere else or has anyone else seen this? thanks in advance.

'Mitel' phones on Connect

Anyone put the 'Mitel' phones on Connect yet? Stable?

I am looking for a definative list of what they can't do that the 400 series can do. The only things I have been able to detemine is that they do not support the edge gateway.

Is it 100% feature parity beside that?

SA100 Will not upgrade

HI All
I just did a 14.2 to Connect upgrade which was fine except the SA-100 Wouldn't upgrade.
After multipuel re-boots, Attempted burnflash and upgrade -v 3 attempts I rang TAC
after 5 hours and 3 different agents as their shift finished, they said to RMA it !

Has anyone else experienced similar problems?
There seems to be no documentation for migrating Physical SA to connect
and it seems silly to RMA it when it is fine except for firmware mismatch

Shoretel Director access (no url)

Please help. I copied shoretel server VM (10.4.2.xx) from Brand to HQ. Plan to re-ip the the copy at HQ to other IP: 10.23.1.xx. Plan to login to Shoretel Director from copy to re-ip while it is off network due to the one from Brand is still online. I can not access to Shoretel Director from url. Is there any other way to access beside url? I would like to make sure all the changes are done from copy before I can offline the one at Brand then put the one at HQ online. Thank you.

Hunt Groups, Multiple Schedules

Please forgive me, but I was designated the Administrator for our company, and up until now, I've done basic administrative tasks but was just asked for something out of the ordinary.

We have 2 Hunt Groups listed -- the first contains 3 Extensions and is set to Ring up to 4 times on our primary DID Number. After 4 Rings, it moves to the second Hunt Group (no DID set) with a lot more Extensions so someone will eventually answer the call.

They now want to make an exception for one day a week (Wednesdays) where different Extensions will ring for the first 4 Rings, but the same Extensions in the second Hunt Group.

I figured out how to create two new Schedules (Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri) and a second for Wed only.

However, I tried to Copy the first Hunt Group (where our primary DID is selected) and it's saying "There are no numbers available for the selected DID range".

My thinking was the first Hunt Group had to have the DID selected but all others after the first one do not. But apparently I can't have two Hunt Groups with the DID selected -- which I thought I would need if I had the two different day Schedules.

I hope I'm explaining this adequately. Thanks in advance for your help.

Has anyone had success setting Cisco IP 79X5g series phones? We inherited a lot of them during an acquisition of a property. I have been able to set up a TFTP server to update the phones from SCCP to SIP, but I have not be able to figure out how to configure for service.

Re-IP from HQ/GVS

After making a copy of Shoretel server, I can access to Shoretel Director. I can not re-IP to new one from Application Server (It said "You may not have modify to config database). I went to registry and changed from there. Reboot server, access back to Application server and it still showed old IP. Verified the one from registry and it showed new IP. I noticed Shoretel Director Utili service is stopped. Tried to start it but it kept failed. Thank you.

MGCP phones not working on an SG-VPhone switch (virtual switch)

Pings between the switches and phones work. IP400 series phones are working just fine. Older MGCP phones -230, 560, etc- are not working. issuing an mgcp debug command on the vswitch yield nothings. No errors in event logs. I did archive the switch logs, but don't know which logs to check or what to look for in them. Phones appear to be registered to the switch, but are displaying no service.

How do you link/forward main phone number to our auto attendant DID number?

Hello,

I just started at my organization and am completely new to shoretel or any voip/sip based phone systems. I have been tasked to do a full makeover of our phone systems. The first task is to fix our auto attendant menu so that it routes calls to the right people. This has been completed and I can see that this auto attendant was assigned a DID number. I call it and the entire thing works great. However, that is not the company's main phone number and I simply am at loss on how to join these two things together. I am assuming this is something our phone service provider has to do by forwarding the numbers? I was hoping this was something that can be accomplished through shoretel director. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Replacing a DVS

I've replaced/upgraded DVS servers back in the day before Connect but I'm looking for guidance on the current procedure. We are on build 21.90.9743.0. I have the official Mitel document on replacing the HQ server but I'm wondering if any of the steps differ when dealing with a DVS.

I'm basing my steps on the HQ migration document - please let me know how this looks. The DVS that's being replaced isn't running distributed database.
  • install new server (Windows 2016, virtualized)
  • Set server name to something different than existing server, join to domain
  • Stop all Shoretel services on old DVS
  • Make a backup of the entire C:\Shoreline Data folder on old server
  • Shut down old DVS server
  • Change the IP address and name of new DVS server to match the old
  • Create new, empty C:\Shoreline Data folder on new DVS
  • Copy the contents of C:\Shoreline Data\keystore from backup to same location on DVS
  • Reinstall same build of DVS software on new server
  • Reboot server
  • Stop/disable all Shoretel services
  • Copy the following folders from backup to new server within C:\Shoreline Data
    • UserData
    • Prompts
    • Vms
  • Enable/start all Shoretel services/reboot server
Does this look OK or am I missing anything?

Auto-Attendant Intermittent DTMF Recognition Problem

Hello,
We are currently running a ShoreTel/Mitel system on Windows 2012 server with an ST100DA connected to a single AT&T IPFlex PRI with 23 channels. Not sure of the version number of the ShoreTel software, the build number on the Director screen is: 21.86.1828.0.

We've been experiencing a very intermittent, albeit annoying problem where the Auto-Attendant does not recognize any DTMF tones and the only option is to hang up and dial in again. It appears to be channel related as all calls on an otherwise idle system do not fail. I've just gone through two weeks with AT&T trying to see if there is some configuration problem somewhere in the AT&T controlled router/IPFlex provider, to no avail. I asked if there were possibly differing settings on some of the channels and they've claimed that all 23 channels are configured identically. Every time I've experienced the issue, I've logged into the director and found that my inbound call was on channel 2 of the PRI, with channel 1 already busy on an inbound call. Kind of at a loss and thought I'd ask here to see if anyone else is experiencing a similar issue and perhaps what steps you took to resolve it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unable to Log Into ShoreTel Communicator Web Client

I can load the login page just fine but it won't actually log in. No error message at all. The IIS permission seem to be set correctly, anonymous, basic and digest are all enabled on /Communicator

Any suggestions?

Contacts in Outlook not displaying

We just upgraded from 14.2. Installed the Mitel Connect. All Outlook Add-Ins working. But no contacts in the Mitel Connect software. Nobody's is working. Not sure what type of trouble shooting I can do. New at this. Running Outlook 2013. Email Server is Exchange 2013 on premise. Anything I should check? Be nice if they had a button to sync and then if it didn't work tell you why.

Network Time Protocol Server

I just moved Shoretel server from DataCenter at Houston to DataCenter at Los Angeles due to DataCenter at Houston is closing down.

How I am going to adjust Network Time Protocol Server from Shoretel which it is now in different time zone and all the Shoretel phones are still at Houston office that connect to server.

The time from the phones will be using LA time. How to make it work so phones at Houston are still show correct time (Houston time). Thank you.

Park on BCA

When parking on a BCA it doesn't actually park the call. The caller hears ringing, however users can still pickup the call using their park/unpark phone button. I've considered using a aBCA (shared call appearance bca) as an alternative, but have not used one before and am unfamiliar with their behavior. Can anyone off some insight on SCA behavior or an alternative?

AA shows Recording controls not available

I have 2012 server with 14.2 and it is giving me issues with recording controls on AA menus. When I open the director and select different links like Users, trunk groups, etc I have no issues. When I open an AA menu I get Recording controls not available and the page freezes, CPU shots to 99% and I have to close IE in task manager to get out of the director. I enabled all the Active X setting and made sure Java was enabled.
Not sure of what else to do.

Oaisys Database Layout / Diagram request

I have access to the database used by Oaisys and am trying to build a data extract. I'm trying to get the detailed view information from the "bottom half" of Oaisys Management Studio.

I have found the core information in the "CTSDevices" database. I can also find the extensions/users involved in the "CallExtensionAssoc" table (but this has no start/end times) to determine a users call length, and also the start time and end time of the recording in the "Annotations" table (but this has no user information)

Can anyone help with how to link the call information to the start and end time of the user taking the call so I can build this extract and report on it?
