Hey, guys. Is there a way callers can select an option to be sent to a voicemail from a workgroup queue? I tried to set an option to "take a message" but that didn't seem to work. Thanks for your time.

Workgroup Queue Recordings - Where Stored?
I am installing a ShoreTel with a great number of Workgroups. This customer has recorded some "standard" queue messages to be used by most of the Workgroups. Where on the server can I find the stored recordings for a specific Workgroup Queue Message so I can copy it and import it into the other Workgroups?

Unable to change wallpaper on IP485G phone.
Has anyone successfully changed the wallpaper on the IP485G phones by using the custom_IP485g.txt config file? I've tried on two different versions of 14.2, but can't seem to get it to work. I've ended up just assigning each user the wallpaper through director, but that's becoming a pain.

New Virtual Collaboration Server
We are just starting to go live with a new ShoreTel system and having trouble with our virtual SA. The appliance is on and has been added to Director but we cant seem to get to the portal.
We are using a virtual SA.
I know there is no conflict with the Fully Qualified Domain Name.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Director v13.1 and IP485g Compatible?
I'm not getting very far with the above. I cannot see if both are compatibly with each other either.
DHCP scope options are all OK (we recently migrated 2008 domain to 2012) and updated AD in director. So phone is getting IP etc, but not registering in director.
Im getting no service.
The following error:
Could not find config files
Pphoneevent: 2702 "could not find config files" could not find country, family, model or mac level config files
No SIP server found in config
PPhoneEvent: 2703"No SIP server found in config" - No SIP server was found in the local config file and no config files were found to download.

Outlook add-on causing hanging
Hey,
We are in the midst of upgrading our workstations with Office 2010 and the Shoretel Outlook add-on that sends VMs to your Inbox is causing Outlook to hang on "Loading Profile". Killing "Agent.exe" resolves but must be done each time in order to get Outlook to finally load up.
Uninstalling the add-on within Shoretel Communicator resolves this issue and Outlook works fine. Re-installing the add-on just recreates the problem once again.
We are running Shoretel Communicator version 11.2 Build 16.42.4740.0
Any suggestions?

Redundancy with an off-site DVS? Questions about DR and additional remote servers
I’ve been doing some research recently on creating a little more redundancy in our Shoretel environment during short periods of WAN/MPLS downtime. There are a number of Shoretel articles, as well as multiple posts on the forums, but they are all either a little different than my ideas, or require additional purchases that I’m trying to avoid. We currently have a number of remote sites, each with a 50V on-site. All of the sites are connected back to our Corporate office via MPLS, where our HQ and ECC servers are located. We also have a DR site (connected via MPLS as well) that has a PRI, but no additional hardware or software at it. We are running the 13.3 build.
During our most current DR test, calls that were answered on the remote office PRIs would play the AAs as expected, but there was no call control, so we were unable to use any “Go to Extension” functionality, as the 50V would simply tell us the extension (even at that current site) was unavailable.
I am trying to find a cost-effective solution to allow for basic call handling/forwards during an outage at the Corporate office. Some articles, including Shoretel’s documentation, mention a second HQ with DoubleTake at a second site. Before incurring this cost, we have an extra Remote Server license. Would it be feasible to install it at the DR site and link it back to the Corporate office site within Shoretel? In the event that the Corporate office became unavailable, would that DVS give us any additional benefit than what we are already getting with basic survivability through the existing 50V switches?

Silent monitoring/Coach
I have strange problem with Silent Monitor/Coach. i can silent coach/Monitor all but few I checked the setting of all and they are all the same everything is same. i can not monitor /coach three of the users. what am I missing I can't figure it out can anyone tell me what maybe the issue? is it communicator or something in the server.

I would like to have a VM Light show up for workgroup members when there is a voicemail. I don't see what phone buttons i need to program for it.

12.2 to 14.2 Upgrade Fails with a Rollback
Does anyone know how to go around or fix an upgrade that fails and rolls back do to what appears to be a cdr records issue?
I found a kb on the main shoretel site that is identical to our issue. I posted this partial repeat of the kb because there was not written solution. Anyone have an idea of the un written solution?
Symptoms
User starts upgrade; upgrade appears to run as expected, but then unexpectedly fails and presents a pop-up window.
The pop-up message is titled "CDR Mysql Database Error", it also includes text stating "There is a version change in the CDR database, please restore CDR database before restarting the server". If OK is selected on this pop-up window, it will start a rollback to previous version. To verify you have this issue see step 1 in red.
Resolution
Verify you have the issue: Go to the \Shoreline Data\Database\ShoreTelCDR\Data and open the .err file using notepad or similar text editor. Look for an entry in the log file stating:

Recording other calls. Sending commands via TAPI
We have the standard ShoreTel package with Communicator and do not have the Call Center upgrade. Recording calls "on the fly" is an acceptable way of recording calls. We would; however, like to be able to ensure the entire call is captured. The agent initiated recording creates delays and incomplete recordings. The agent may not initiated the recording until the greeting or question is already asked. We would like to be able to have the recording automatically begin when the call is answered. Does anyone know a way of sending a command through TAPI to initiate the recording with the "Ctrl+e" command? Can this be enabled to send the command to a specific extension/communicator? Any information you have would be great. Thanks!

Shoretel integration with Skype for Business 2015
Does anyone know if this works? In Skype for Business 2015 (the lync replacement) CSTA support is gone. It uses a new interface called Call Via Work uses Unified Communications Web API (UCWA). Has anyone set this up or configured this at all?

Very slow reporting!! Is there any way to speed it up? Any tips?
We've been using Shoretel for 5+ years and have upgraded hardware once (off of Win2003 about 6 months ago). We're currently on build 19.43.1700.0 (14.2 I believe).
It takes many minutes to run even a simple report either on the server itself or at the end-user's desk. Is there anything we can do to speed that up?
My only thought so far is to purge old database records...I've never done that (I have no idea if that's regular maintenance I've just been not doing).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is driving team managers crazy.

Does the user have the ability to customize their Communicator toolbar? I have been programming the buttons/shortcuts for them. If it is possible, what settings do I change to get them the ability?

New ShoreTel SIP Setup

I'm back asking for a little help. We are fixing to move a customer to a SIP trunk from a traditional PRI. We are using ATT which is listed in the innovation page as compatible.
ATT sent us a document that we need to fill out in order to get the SIP trunk turned up but I am having some difficulties filling out the PBX portion.
They are asking whether the PBX is a TDM or IP PBX, from my understanding the ShoreTel system can be both. I am assuming we go with the IP PBX option and just give them the IP information to the HQ server.
If anyone has experience filling out this paperwork or can give me some information on deploying SIP to ShoreTel please let me know.

sip to analog continuous ringing.
We have a customer that has had shoretel install for some years now. They recently reported having issues with inbound calls. User will call their main line and will hear it ring 10 times. Then on the 11th ring it will finally show up on the trunk test tool and then send the call to the work group.
We hook up our buttset to the 66 block and can hear the phone ring inbound on the first ring on the buttset. It will continue to ring then shoretel will pickup on the 11th ring. We notice that if we leave our buttset off hook it will allow all calls to flow perfect to shoretel.
We are not sure what is the cause or where to go from here.

ShoreTel and GMail Integration
Anyone using this feature? Any feedback please? We do have the installation guide. Just checking if this really works and does not mess up the user's email, v/m and/or servers. We are on ShoreTel 14.2 Build 19.44.2503.0. Some users are using speech to text service (third party software) some are using the escalation profile and other mailbox options where the message delivered as email.

ShoreTel 220T1's dropping TMS and all attached ECC agents drop to OOS
We are having an issue in our system where 2 or 3 220T1's will drop TMS at random during the day and all the attached ECC agents drop to OOS. We have verified power and network and we can't seem to find any other rhyme or reason for the cause. We have 8 total 220T1's at this site, and the other equipment seems to be fine. The drops happen on the two switches at the exact same time. Generally, the issue sorts itself out within about 15 minutes and then happens again in a few days. We have 220T1's at other sites with no issues.
We have cases open with ShoreTel as well as Cisco to try and uncover the problem as well as network captures on the switch ports. Has anyone else seen this issue or have any other ideas?

14.2 Build 5002- Packet capture on IP480, can't upload, "Access Denied (http 401)"
A user on the other side of the country has a small site, 2-3 IP480 phones and an SG50 with 4 analog lines. She is doing a packet capture on her phone for a strange issue (Outbound calls are ringing back to their hunt group / analog trunk inbound extension. They are getting 2-3 calls that are dead air each time they dial out). So Shoretel TAC has requested a video of what is happening on the phone, and also a packet capture from the phone showing this behavior, so they can escalate it to Tier2. I had the gal take a packet capture, but the Upload button gives "Access Denied (http 401)". Any idea on what I might need to look at to fix this?
