Does anyone know if turning up the volume for ring and call over telnet is possible? Don't laugh, I have end users I don't trust to press the volume up button.

SIP Media Proxy Trunk
I know you need a sip media proxy trunk to do Music on hold....
Is that only file based, will music on hold work on classic trunks?
I assume you cant define SIP trunks on one ShoreGear and media proxy trunks on another right
Also, I have situations where some one does not get hold music, is this because we run out of sip media proxies?

Flexible usage of Shoretel 265
Dear all,
We would like to use flexible workplaces in our callcenters.
I know that there is a possibility to not assign a fix station permanently to someone, but to keep them on available, so every user can login on it.
We did some tests but it's not working.
Is there anyone beeing able to tell me what configuration needs to be done?

Softphone over VPN issues
Hi we are using shoretel 14.2 server and shoreware switches. We are 3rd party VPN softphone for calling. but sometime the softphone is not getting registered and sometimes the call is not landing to the softphone. checked both in the office WIFI and outside network. VPN connectivity is perfect phoblem is in the phone.

Forwarding Caller ID
We switched telco providers, and when we did, our ability to "pass through" the original caller ID on external forwards went away. The new carrier says q.931 is enabled. The checkbox for Original Caller ID in the trunk group is checked - what am I missing?

ShoreTel 14.2 19.43.1700.0
I upgraded my HQ Server to v14.2 19.43.1700.0. Under quick look I notice that all my SG Switches say Firmware Version Mismatch. Have rebooted all Switches many times and also used the "burnflash" method but they are all still saying Firmware Version Mismatch.
When telnet into the switch and choose 1 (Show Version), I get the following:

Firmware Version: 19.43.1700.0
BootROM Version: 1.1.3.25
Boot Base Version: 3
CPU Board: Rev 2.7.70
Firmware version says 19.43.1700.0 and that is the version of my director. Then why is it saying firmware version mismatch? Is this version buggy?

Shortel + Sip Client + Video
Is it possible to get a sip client htat supports video to work with ShoreTel
For example im trying to conf cSipSimple, over a VPN (so its all local) but when calling out I get 404.Also video keeps saying "rejected" on communicator.
Any ideas?

Is there anyway to force a Codec to be used?
ShoreTel gives you the option to create a Codec list for your site or sites. Is there anyway to force the system to use your specified codec for Intra-Site Calls and Inter-Site Calls? It appears no matter what you create the system will always use G711 first, no matter what. All equipment has been cycled and I am trying to force the system to use BV16 and BV32 only. This is for test purposes. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

Internal and External Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN)
I have read through the documentation, twice, and haven't found a definitive answer. Can the FQDN of the mobility router use the same external address as the A-record of the internal address? ie: external: mobility.mydomain.com pointed to the public IP address of the WAN interface and the same name using the internal DNS server pointed to the internal LAN IP address?

Outlook Conferencing Button Missing
I have a user whose "Conference" button disappeared. Reinstallation of ShoreTel Communicator, uninstall and reinstall of Outlook add-ins did not bring it back. What I found is that the ShoreTel CAS Connection Add-In shows up as disabled regardless of what I do (manage Add-ins) and attempt to check the box, it always shows up as disabled thus the conference button does not appear, however the call handling meeting icon does. Array . Ideas?

Auto Attendant voice prompt options???
My boss doesn't like the auto attendant prompts which currently ask the person to dial by first name. He makes a good point that most cell phones today do not have alphanumeric keys so dialing by name is impossible for most normal people. We have many elderly clients and this presents a big problem for them. Does Shoretel offer some type of auto attendant feature where the caller can just say the name of who they are trying to reach? If so how do I go about obtaining that feature? Cost? Thank you for your time!

SA-100 / desktop sharing
Having an issue with the host sharing desktop thru the SA-100. We are running 14.2, the host is using IE 11. The participants are able to share
their desktop with the host but host is unable to share desktop. Clicking share desktop in center of page does nothing. The host can share a presentation and white board just fine but not desktop.
The presentation and acceleration software is installed on host machine.
The routing and DNS inside and outside are correct, in trusted sites, SSL cert up to date.
Any thoughts??

Shoretel communicator and outlook
First of all, I really appreciate you all taking the time to read this.
I'll describe the setup in use before moving on to the issue. We're running shoretel build 18.61.2202.0, most phones are model 230, clients use 64 bit windows 7 professional and outlook 2010 professional plus.
One of our users mentioned that his phone is not switching its mode depending on scheduled outlook meetings, the way it should. The shoretel call handling mode outlook addon is supposed to automatically switch calling mode from (depending on configuration of course) standard to in a meeting whenever outlook calendar has a meeting, and then switch back to standard mode once the meeting is over. But that's rarely happening.
Personally, I don't use the addon, but I installed it for the purpose of replicating this issue, and noticed the same problem right away. I've gone through every shoretel communicator option/countless outlook settings related to calendar and adddons, I've even reinstalled shoretel communicator and the addon itself, but nothing seems to work. This addon has a mind of its own.. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I'm out of ideas at this point. Any suggestions?

How do ECC agent queues work?
I understand that each agent has their own personal queue.
How do we transfer calls into the personal queue?
Is it possible for the agent to make calls using the queue to help in out bound dialing reports?

SIP phone registration issues
Hi,
My Director showing 30th July as expiration when checked for all SIP phones & now no new SIP phone is getting registered.
Network team says, nothing changed from them.
I have 13.1 build, anyone has this before or any idea.

ECC Script to capture Current Date
Hi guys,
Am trying to put down a GCCS script to capture the system date.
Am using a simple .mdb Access database to store the data in and make sure it works. It's just 2 columns..one with the ID and one labeled TheDate.
I've the connection to the DB working fine and was trying to get that date written down in several ways:
1) insert into table set (TheDate) values (sysdate) - this one fails...it doesn't recognize sysdate; I've seen sysdate being used here http://www.shoretelforums.com/forum/...r-sql-question
2) insert into table set (TheDate) values (%ACD Enter Date%) - this one I see works but only to a certain extent..I've the Diagnostic Console open and can see the date being passed on as '2014-08-25' but when I check the database i can see 1981 written in (1981=2014-8-25)..so it's actually doing a substraction...I've forced the Database field to "Text" and "Memo" but I still have the same issue..
Does anybody know of another way to capture the date please? Has anybody done something similar?

3-Way Calls Disconnect
Has anyone seen issues doing a 3-way conference call then the call drops after 1-5 minutes? Or Echos? Sent outbound over two different carriers and but issues continues no matter what carrier I choose. We are on 13.3 with 230g phones. Ideas? Happens in the field (external assignment) too.

IP 565 reboots during conference calls
One of our Shoretel IP 565 phones reboots during conference calls. Sometimes it takes a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes. It is connected to a PoE switch
that is new within the last 2 years. It has plenty of power. I've tried moving to a different switchport on an empty switch blade and gotten the same issue. Has anyone
run into this before?

Self audited vs keyed licenses
After adding a user today, I'm now out of compliance for personal access licenses.
I'm concerned that performing my upgrade to 14.2 build 19.43.1700 is a bad idea until i get this resolved.
But also i have 5-10 extensions that share desks and 5-10 extensions that are just wall phones, so I don't have as many installs of communicator as i have extensions in use.
So,
* Am I safe to apply the upgrade?
* Do I really have to do anything about this license discrepency?
